The ReplaceRadio.com Site
Powered by Drupal. Harnessed by Andrew Girvan.
The replaceradio.com website is built on an open source content management system called Drupal. Functionality for services such as podcasting and blogs is aready included in the system which can be added to any normal web hosting and additional functionality is added using modules which are designed and written by members of the very active Drupal development community. It is important to stress that all of this is done for free. We do not pay to use Drupal or any of the modules, we simply pay to have it hosted on the internet. You can find out more about Drupal at http://www.drupal.org. As well as an active developer community there is also a very active Drupal consultancy and training community whose free video tutorials and instructions have been invaluable in developing the site.
The theme we are using on the site, the colour schemes and how the site is layed out was bought from the guys at Top Notch Themes, a premium Drupal theme development company. More about them can be found at http://www.topnotchthemes.com. As well as developing themes which they can sell to people they also develop free themes for the community and feed them back into the ecosystem, a very important part of the Open Source ethos.
The website itself was developed, designed and implimented by Andrew Girvan. To discuss further projects or find out more about Andrew please visit http://www.andrewgirvan.com
