Blog #4 The USB wristbands are here...

For this year’s 3rd Degree not only will a two week pass cost you just £10, but you will also get a USB wristband with music, photos, links and the festival programme...Not bad for less than £1 a night.

So, with 3rd Degree 2009 fast approaching its time to mention the final three nights. 30th April brings Fiddle and the Drum. Thomas J. Speight will open the show with carefully crafted songs with a country/folk flavour, followed by Fables. Fables offer an original folk feel sound softened further by the dulcet tones of Miss Ellie Redhead. Concluding the night will be Natalie McCool (www.nataliemccool.co.uk). All in all the night will be one of alternative folk set in the faded decadence of the theatre.

The 1st May brings One Moonlit Night, featuring Fawn (www.myspace.com/fawnmusic), Becy Howley and Ashley Theberge. This will be an eclectic blend of 1950’s, acoustic folk and music blending the sounds of Feist, Joni Mitchell and Regina Spector.

Closing this years’ festival will be a night entitled “Our Living Room”. This night’s musicians want to welcome their audience to their living room. From their home to yours this will be a night of heartfelt and honest music. Performing will be Anne Grete, Better Fires (www.myspace.com/gurog) and Alyssa Bonnagura.

So now you have an idea of what each night has to offer, you can see there is something for everyone, no matter what your musical taste. Tickets will go on sale soon and don’t forget to buy your two week festival pass with it’s a USB wristband with all the festival essentials.

On the random band mention theme today's mention goes to Sylosis. Now this week it isn’t an unsigned band but they definitely deserve a mention and its worth checking out their Conclusion of an Age album. (www.myspace.com/sylosis) This week I’ve also been listening to an old favourite “Hellyeah”, if you haven’t already heard of these guys... you should have!
