Blog #2 It’s coming.....

So.... 3rd Degree is fast approaching with over 35 acts preparing to showcase their talent live in the Paul McCartney Auditorium, Liverpool.

This week the management team has been working together with the production team to ensure all will run smoothly. Lighting and sound design is currently under way to enhance the performances and sets are being designed in relation to the themes of the night. So it’s looking like it’s going to be a exciting two weeks of professional performances, including Parisian cabaret, scantily clad dancers and much much more.

Following on from last weeks’ blog we move on to day 4. 23rd April brings “Slaves to the Program” a night of electronic based music from LA Meduza, Rasa Bubulyte and We got Wires (www.myspace.com/wegotwires). The three bands will be using collaborative sets and visuals to create a multi dimensional technological show.

24th of April features Sirin Enol, Brian Crawford and Ashley Wood. Their night “Urban Legend” will be one of feel good music, music you will want to dance and sing along to. The night will include an assemble gospel choir singing songs from Kurt Franklin to other funk'ed up gospel music.

Saturday 25th April sums up the end of the first week with “Don’t Stop the Music”: featuring three acts performing high energy original material. During the night there will be impressive lighting displays, an array of dancers and of course our three bands: The More, Untouched (www.myspace.com/untouchedofficial) and Anja F (www.myspace.com/anjafagerli).

So by Saturday night we will have gigged our way through the first half of the festival. But there will be plenty more to come.....

So to follow on from last weeks’ random note I feel I should continue to give a shout out to one signed and one unsigned act that deserve a mention. So...... first up: Pig Iron (www.myspace.com/soundsofcaligula) who describe their sound as “Lynyrd Skynyrd fighting Motörhead. On a hill. Near Altamont...” and in my opinion that’s pretty much spot on. Saw these guys at Hard Rock Hell in December and they are definitely one of the best live acts I’ve seen for ages.
And so on to the unsigned band.... mention here goes to Northwest band Servosi (www.myspace.com/servosi), who will the giging around the northwest again in March.
